Anne M. Holdridge, 95, of Edmeston died peacefully December 5, 2014 at The Manor
She was born June 29, 1919 in Holland, the daughter of Hendrik and Dora (Stienem) Willems. Anne spent her childhood in West Winfield and graduated in 1937 from the local high school. She married Duane H. Holdridge on February 1, 1947 in Burlington Flats. He predeceased her in 1997.
Anne lived on South Street in Edmeston until she and Duane sold their home to reside at West Hill Terrace in 1993. For the past six years she has been well cared for The Manor.
Many will remember Anne and Duane sitting on their porch and enjoying the glory of South Street. Anne was always delightful to visit with. She offered an easy smile with great conversation.
Her daughters Connie Holdridge Chase (Pete), Gail Holdridge Taisor (Ron); her grandchildren Nicole Iverson (Victor) of Rome, Andrea Trevett (Matt) of Rome, Terrence Tasior (Kathy) of Windermere Fla., and Angela Basso (John) of Charlotte NC; her great grandchildren Nathan Iverson and Ryan Iverson, Ethan and Austin Tasior, Caden and Brody Basso; her sister, Dora Welch; her in- laws Richard and Marge Holdridge and Pauline Smith; and several nieces and nephews survive Anne.
She was predeceased by her husband, Duane; and three brothers Jacob, William, Matthew, Henry and John Willems; and her sister Mary Avery.
Connie and Gail would like to thank the staff at The Manor for their love, kindness and care for their Mom, Anne.
Funeral Services and calling hours will be held in the spring at the Houk-Johnston-Terry Funeral Home, Edmeston with Father John P. Rosson, of Cooperstown, New York, officiating.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in New Berlin.
Contributions may be made in Anne’s memory or the Edmeston Emergency Squad or Fire Department.
