David H. Kent

David Hunter Kent, 63, of Edmeston, NY passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday August 1, 2017.

Dave was born on May 11, 1954 in Cooperstown, NY the son of the late John and Isabella Brand Kent. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Genevieve Kent Waller, a brother in law William Nevil, and parents in law Joe and Joan Seifried.

Dave is survived by, his loving wife Lynn Seifried Kent whom he married on August 5, 1978, his sons John D. Kent, Joseph B. Kent, a sister Kathleen Nevil, sisters in law Lori Sullivan (John), Leslie Seifried (Vito), brothers in law Wesley Waller, Lee Seifried (Patty), and Lewis Seifried (Deb). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Dave retired as Head Bus Mechanic for the Edmeston Central School Bus Garage on June 19, 2009 after 31 years of service. He was a former Fire Commissioner, and long time Edmeston Fire Department member.

Memorial services will be 2:00pm Sunday August 6, 2017 at the Delker and Terry Funeral Home 30 South Street Edmeston with Pastor Jay Henderson of the Burlington Flats Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of calling hours, all are invited to the Edmeston Fire Department for refreshments following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Edmeston Fire Department in memory of Dave.
